Company Overview
Pan Pacific Metalware Manufacturers Ltd. (PPM) is a Hong Kong based company that specializes in the manufacturing of high pressure die-casting parts. The company was founded in 1966 as a small machine shop that manufactured die-casting machines, tool fabrication and jobbing for die-casting parts.

The founder Robin Pan has always been a pioneer at heart. He had setup the first aluminum and brass die-casting business in Hong Kong in 1957 and later on we began production in zinc die-casting due to the demand on the market at that time.

At PPM, Quality has always been a priority. This philosophy led us to be the first in our industry to acquire a CMM in Hong Kong in 1979. We were also among the few in the industry in Hong Kong to implement CAE/CAD/CAM in the mid-eighties. We are always dedicated to search for new ways to continuously improve our products and services so that we can better serve the needs of our customers.

With this concept in the mind of everyone in PPM, our company has evolved from manufacturing toys in the late sixties and seventies to more technical and higher precision parts for industries such as the aerospace, automotive, audio security automation control system and communication industries. We are glad that over the years we have been a qualified supplier for many multinational companies.

Heritage
Robin Pan, the founder of PPM, was an undergraduate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a service mechanic for DC-4 and DC-46 aircrafts of The China Aviation Corp. During the Second World War, he joined a group of returned engineers from Europe after the foundation of People's Republic of China with the vision of self-reliance through industrialization to build a strong nation, and commenced to research and development the process of METAL DIE-CASTING in Shanghai, China. In 1956 he had succeeded building the first self-made cold chamber die-casting machine in Shanghai engaged in manufacture connector components for military and aviation applications and was highly praised by Shanghai Government.

He moved to Hong Kong because of the political movement in China and founded Modern Industrial Works in partnership with a relative engaging in metal zinc die-casting toys manufacturers. However, Modern Industrial Works was later taken over by Universal Die-casting Co (Match Box) which in turn merged with Mattel Inc. a US toys conglomerate. Robin Pan was reputed as one of the pioneers of die-casting realm both in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The ambitious Robin, knowing the show must go on, founded PPM in 1966 as a small plant engaged in die-casting machine manufacture, tools fabrication and jobbing for die-casting parts. During 1960s to 1970s, toys industry played the leading role of industry in Hong Kong Area. With his high-profile status in the realm, PPM was exclusively appointed vendor for Mattel, Tyco and Hasbro, etc.

With forward-looking insight, upgrade of Hong Kong manufacturing industries from toys to more technical and engineering-oriented industries for small home electrical appliances and electronics in the early 1980s. In 1979, PPM gave up the policy of self-made die-casting machines, and began to import advanced die-casting machines and tools for mold fabrication from Japan and Europe.

With China¡¦s new open door policy in late 1980s, PPM moved its production base to mainland China, Humen of Dong Guan. In 1995 the existing plant with 10,000 square meters was completed. PPM benefited from opening-up policy of China, we forged firm relationship with global customers and products are directly distributed in USA, Europe and Japan.
